Mental Health Counselor

Service Description

I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) Mental Health Counselor (Limited Permit) who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. I have experience in community mental health, school-based counseling, and telehealth services, with a particular focus on supporting Black, Latino, immigrant, and Spanish-speaking communities. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, family conflict, relationship concerns, acculturation challenges, trauma, grief, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I have extensive experience supporting children and adolescents in school settings and collaborating with families to strengthen communication, improve emotional understanding, and reestablish parent-child relationships. I also have experience facilitating family sessions, couples work, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups. My approach is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in each client's unique lived experience. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Solution-Focused approaches, I tailor treatment to meet each client's individual needs and goals. I believe healing occurs within authentic relationships and strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. I recognize that each person holds multiple intersecting identities that shape how they experience themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. My goal is to provide a grounded space where clients feel safe discussing the aspects of their identity and lived experience that matter most to them. While therapy can provide relief from immediate concerns, I also help clients explore patterns, experiences, and relationships that may be contributing to their current challenges. Together, we work to develop greater self-understanding, strengthen distress tolerance, and build confidence in navigating life's difficulties.
